Traditional meditation with a sound bath
We begin with a short meditation in the classical tradition — sitting or lying, following the breath. Then the Tibetan singing bowls begin, and for the rest of the hour you simply rest inside the sound.
What happens
An hour in four movements
1
Arrive & settle
Find your mat, get comfortable under a blanket. A few words on what's ahead. [5 min]
2
Guided meditation
A traditional breath-awareness meditation to slow down and arrive in the body. [10–15 min]
3
Sound bath
Tibetan singing bowls are played around the room in slow waves of tone. You only listen. [35 min]
4
Return slowly
Silence, a gentle stretch, a cup of tea. No rush to leave. [5–10 min]
The instruments
Tibetan singing bowls
Our bowls are hand-hammered metal bowls from the Himalayan region. When struck, each one sounds a low fundamental tone with shimmering overtones above it, and keeps humming long after the strike. Played together, they create a soft, slowly shifting field of sound.
There's no melody to follow and nothing to understand. Many people notice their breathing slow and their muscles soften. Some drift into a light sleep — that's welcome too.
The history & science of the bowlsOften chosen by people who…
- hold stress in their shoulders, neck or back
- feel anxious or can't quiet their thoughts
- struggle to fall asleep or sleep lightly
- are in a demanding job, an exam period or a hard chapter of life
- want a regular ritual of deep rest for long-term well-being

A sound bath made for you
Your own unique program. We combine a personal sound bath with gentle touch, assisted stretches and traditional breathing techniques — chosen for how you feel that day.
Your personal program
Five parts, shaped around you
A short conversation
Where do you feel tension? How are you sleeping? What's been asking a lot of you? This shapes everything that follows.
Traditional breathing
Simple breathing techniques from the yoga tradition — slow, extended exhales — to begin shifting the body out of alert mode.
Gentle touch & stretching
Light Thai-style pressure and assisted stretches on the areas that hold the most — often neck, shoulders, back and legs. Always within your comfort.
Your sound bath
Tibetan singing bowls played close to you, some placed near or gently on the body so you feel the vibration as well as hear it.
Stillness & something to take home
A quiet closing meditation, then one breathing practice you can use on your own — before an exam, a meeting or sleep.
Why one-to-one
When you need more than a group class
Some people find it easier to let go when no one else is in the room. Others come with a specific place in the body that needs attention, or arrive at a very full moment in life. A private session lets us move at your pace and focus on what you need.
It also makes a thoughtful gift — [GIFT VOUCHERS AVAILABLE?].
Please tell us beforehand about injuries, pregnancy or any medical condition, so we can adapt the bodywork.
Reserve your mat
Tuesday & Friday, limited places. No experience needed.
